James Spaulding

Dr. Spaulding has years of experience in the computer industry as a systems engineer, technical trainer, project manager, consultant and executive. He is skilled in needs analysis, course development, and training. He has delivered complex technical topics to a wide range of audiences and regularly designs and delivers workshops, training interventions and programs with instructor-led, virtual/hybrid, web-based, and computer-based training.

His most popular courses focus on relevant subjects in today's technical world including Business Continuity and disaster planning, Database design and programming, and Project Management with lean and agile methodologies. These often comply with strenuous requirements for regulatory or legal issues with the highest standards of technical accuracy and clarity of understanding. They often include activities that exploit experiential learning and exploratory laboratory exercises.

Jim is an experienced corporate teacher and a faculty member for over a dozen years at Penn State University in the Graduate School, Continuing Education, Accelerated Program, and Professional Education. He teaches a variety of subjects such as: Instructional Design, Database Design, Business Analysis, Computer Technology, and focuses on IT and Project Management with lean methodologies. He has succeeded in many client assignments for firms such as Astra Zeneca, Centocor, Hitachi Vantara, Microsoft Corporation, Philadelphia Scientific, Smith-Kline Beecham, Teradata, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and many others.

Jim studied Systems Engineering at Widener University after a BS in Mathematics from Villanova University. He earned a Doctorate from Penn State, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. He maintains memberships in many professional organizations and has published both fiction and non-fiction.

Jim is an enthusiastic sailor, sailing "Tigger", his 31' Gemini Catamaran in the Chesapeake Bay. His is active in boating education. He is a Lt./C with the Mainline Power & Sail Squadron serving as Education Officer and regularly teaches boating safety.

The objective of Jim's career has always been to connect vision and strategies with features and functions that assure the classroom and in the boardroom.
